After the newspapeter advertisement I received about 250 CVs. After filtering selected about 40 for the interview rounds. So far found only 2 acceptable guys. Damn it's difficult to find 'bullet' guys. Basically its not only technical skills ... I very seriously consider things like atitude, patience, learning capacity, commitment and honesty.
Here's the scene ...
-
Many of the applicants have couple of years of experience .NET ... but the strange thing is some of them still DONT know what .NET really is. Still they are thinking in terms of old days. They think in VB and code in .NET ... Guys think in .NET and code in .NET then you'll become a real .NETtter
-
Everybody is mentioning C++ in their CV. I'm pretty damn sure most of them have written only a 'Hello World!' program in C++, may be some of them have written bit more things like sorting algorithms, etc etc. I'm telling this because when I talk to them they really don't have much clue about C++. NO offence guys ... it is C++ ... you cant just insult it like this.
-
And some applicants mention about projects like the whole thing was done by them. But when questioned they have done only a small part of it.
-
And the WORST case of all is ... some people show websites/software done by others. One guy showed me one of the sites which I did sometime back as a one he did. He have nicely copied it on to a CD and 'Site by' is changed to his name. He got so screwed when I showed him the original site. Isn't there anything called 'dignity' with these guys.
Anyway i'm still there are couple of seats available. Intervews are scheduled till next Wednesday.

Didnt get a change to blog during last couple of days. Got stuck with a very urgent project.
anyway finally managed to code few more features to my blog site. finalize the coding for several more things for my blog site.
- Photo Gallery - same like my blog site I have 100% coded the photo gallery componments. This is having two view modes called 'Quick View' and the 'Detailed View'. Quick View mode shows the thumbnails and you can click to see the full view. (actually it will take you to the Detailed View). In the Detail View it shows a large photo, with four thumbnail images at the bottom. So you can get an idea about the next and previous images. In both these views there are Next and Previous buttons to navigate thgouth the gallery.
- Downloads Section - here my target is to give some quick links to useful downloads. clicking on the links will open the relevent site, or might directly download the relevent file depending on the situation.
- Comments - Comments entering section is updated with an WYSIWYG editor. So now commenters can enter in HTML.
Next Update: Next i'm going to update the blog calender. And i got a complain from few friends saying that the site is bit slow. I have already noticed few points where i can enhance the speed. so i'm going to work on that too.
And thanks to Jinath and Indi for pointing the error(s) in the RSS feed, Lolitha and Prasad for the tips given about calender.
