Our good old guru started another blog with the title 'Ed's TechEd South East Asia 2006 Blog' which I think he is going to talk about Tech.Ed events around South East Asia. So far the info published are interesting. I guess more things in the pipe to come.
Another Blog !*@(#^&*!@^#&@# He never had a blog. Every time when I asked him the answer was 'I never had time to blog'. Ok ok guys... But actually couple of weeks back Ed started a blog with a crazy name. It's very hard for me to remember it. Never mind about that. Don't forget to check the Ed's Tech.Ed Blog.
So the good news is ... Tech.Ed is coming up ...

Live Messenger Beta is crashing time to time and sometimes it is pissing me off. But still I'm using it because I love that search feature, Offline messaging and Offline Mode.
Anyways all this trouble is until the final version comes out. I herd that it is coming out in may or something. But not for sure. Hope it comes out soon.

It's a little bit over one year for my blogging experience. Woo! Hoo!
Finally got my hosting sorted out to .NET 2.0 ... well! its a new hosting. ... so very soon i'll be putting up welasharp.net 2.0 on the new server powered with .NET 2.0 with couple of enhancements.
It's been a great year with my blog, got to know lot of new friends through the blog. It was always a happy moment(s) to see the encouraging comments. Over 100k hits within 1 year is a big number. I think publishing the imageineCup stuff made lot of hits. "ImagineCup" is one of the top search keywords which brought tons hits to my blog.
Thanks to all my friends who gave me valuable suggestions to enhance the blog. ALSO a BIG thank to all my friends and unknown friends who commented.
Hmmm! Good old memories :)

Yesterday we started the Sri Lanka IT Pro User Group. Special thanks to Gateway for providing us the Auditorium to host the event. So every month first Thursday this is going to happen. It's good to see a head count of 20.
Ruwan did two sessions, one on Windows 2003 R2 and the other one on Exchange Server ... new MVP Imran could't make it to the meeting. Unfortunately for me I couldn't digest most of the things he talked about. But i'm sure most of the IT Pro guys understood those because the feedback received was really cool.

Hope we'll get all the support from the memebers like we get for the .NET User Group. We are going to need it :)

Actually wela0@hotmail.com is my first mail address. I created this a long time back. But after a while due to too many spam mails I stopped using it as my day to day mail address. But I kept on using is as my MSN Messenger sign on. After that ... time-to-time I switched to various webmails ... LankaBell, Graffiti, 3DUP, Yahoo etc. Then when Gmail came out I stick with it because it was a different web mail experience.
Finally after ages of waiting ... Hotmail new version is out. It was code named as 'Kahuna'. Last Friday evening when I logged in It prompt me the upgrade wizard and went through it and that was it. It looks cool. Drag and Drop and Right Click features are great. Anyways still there are lot of things to be improved. But honestly when comparing Hotmail new version and Gmail ... I still vote Gmail.

Areas where this UI can be improoved is huge. So I'm really thinking of starting back using hotmail as my day-to-day mail. But i'll wait for the improvements .. such as size, speed etc.
