Once again got a last minute job from a client.

I'm thinking of STOPPING the graphics designing work. Because cases like these are cauing 'ME' serious problems.

Got the new about the Google Accelarator from couple of friends. But the morning hours were really busy. It was too late when i checked in the afternoon. it is giving a message saying 'Thank you for your interest in Google Web Accelerator. We have currently reached our maximum capacity of users and are actively working to increase the number of users we can support.' seems like I'll have to wait .

Anyway I was using a similar tool caled OnSpeed. Even though couple of friends from UK comments that it is increasing the speed by several times, here is really sucks. May be because of the band width issues in Sri Lanka.

So ... as for now seems like only way to experience a fast internet connection is to come very very early to office .

Yesterday I got stuck in middle of a presentation @ the User Group Meeting. My Topic was 'Personalization of Web Applications'. First Demo was using Visual Studio 2003 and it was ok. The second DEMO was about Personalization Features in Whidbey. Suddenly it started giving a TIMEOUT error when using the WebPartManager control. I'm not exactly sure what went wrong. Because I practiced the same demo several times, and it never gave any such errors.

Thats not the best part ... I tried the same demo today morning, and in the first try it didnt work properly (gave the same error), BUT in the second try it worked perfectly. So that means something is wrong in my machine or the installation. Still looking for the reasons, and similar incidents in the web.

I couldn't show three points which i had planned ...

1. Using the Login, Create User Wizard, Password Recovery controls
2. Personalized Data displaying
3. Layout Personalization (drag & drop) features.

Hopefully in the next meeting i'll show these ...

Normally on holidays If i'm @ home (i mean when there are no events like meeting friends etc etc), mainly i spend my time with my computer watching a movie, playing a game or doing some research. Only very few hours i stay away from it, may be to watch news or something.

But now things are going to get worst with the new TV Card.

Only 4 years to wait. I wish that ... it will be an affordable technology.

Finally got a free time slot to write a detailed blog about the last week's big event.

Ruwan, Merill, Manzi, Prasanna, Shandy and me went to Singapore in UL312 Sri Lankan Flight. Jinath joined us @ Singapore Later in another Flight.

Checked into the hotel 'The Oriental Singapore' in the afternoon. It was a cool place. First day it was only a welcome dinner. But met lot of fellow MVPs in the region. Also met several cool guys from Microsoft.

After the Dinner went out with Singapore MVPs for a Coffee. Sorry guys I don't remember all your names one by one.

Next Day the Opening Event was really cool with some traditional stuff. It was a mix of few cultural traditional drums.

And after that there were several long/short speeches.

Next couple of days were filled with tons interesting technical presentations and cool 'extra' activities. I must specially mention the dancing events @ Singapore zoo. There is a saying that ... 'One picture says a thousand words' ... so I though of publishing all the pictures without describing everything one by one in words.

And All Sri Lankan MVPs are back in the country, so its not a MVP less country anymore .

Wooo ..... after the great 'tour de Sigapore' i'm back in Sri Lanka. Actually came on last Friday evening. But couldnt find a spare time to blog. Things here in office are bit messed up.

As the theme of the event ment we were able to 'Get Connected' with lot of fellow MVPs in the region.

As a whole the summit was great. But there were couple of boooooooring presentations.

Tons of updates are to come in the next few blog entries. Also exiting photos and videos.

Everything is ready for the ... Tour de Singapore ...
