.NET Workshop @ Moratuwa University ...

by Wela on 14 May 2005 20:28

First session of the two day workshop was held yesterday @ Moratuwa University. There were about 50 students. Most of them were absolutly beginners to .NET, some of them had a basic knowledge.

Oshani, Chamath and Isuru have done a good job in organizing the event. We started almost exactly on time. Unfortunately there were no microphone. So I had to speak out as loud as possible.

It was mainly about developing Windows Applications. As usual only very few of them talked. But there were couple of good questions. Nice thing is some of them were creating their 'first' project in .NET, but they did well on the excercise.

I wonder whether anybody has invented a method for our university students to get to talk in events like these. Sometimes I had to point out the question and give the answer myself .

Next Session which is on 21st Saturday will be about ASP.NET and Web Service.

Well, as for getting the university students to talk; well tehre are two ways:    1. You go and ask the question and stand in front of them till they give the answer. You dont do anything else. You dont push for the answer, you just keep looking at them Smile    2. Get smaller groups. Ideally of size of 10 consisting of people  who know each other.    Well, the problem is ofcourse implementing them ;)
