Windows Vista session on the first day by Ramnish Singh was a great session. Everybody was thrilled by seeing the features of Vista. At the end of the session everybody came to the MVP Stall expecting to get a copy of the Vista DVD.
We only had a limited number of copies, so we made a request from the gathered crowd 'if there are many from the same company we can give one copy and please share' and also made another request from them 'if you have collected one during the session by answering questions please don't try to get another copy'. But some didn't listen to any of those requests. Some guys who got the DVD during the session was there among the crowd. I can mention few of them by their names :) , anyways nothing personal. If any of 'them' are seeing this post please remember that all MVPs are very disappointed about you. Why don't they understand the concept of sharing. When I took few copies of the DVD to my hand some started fighting for those ... which was a very unpleasant and undisciplined scene. Table on the stall was pushed far away ... stall was skewed
. Due to this finally we had to stop giving out any more DVDs for the day.
One gentleman even kind of threatened me saying he is 'going to complain this to Sriyan'. (Mr. Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne is the Country Manager for Microsoft Sri Lanka). Anyway after I explained him the situation I think he understood.
Anyways we understand one thing, whole crowd tried to get a copy of the DVD because of the enthusiasm you have for this great next generation operating system. So no hard feelings. And we will try our best to arrange something on this. But this is not a promise. Folks these DVDs doesn't come free :)
