| | I bought this couple of weeks back, but at that time my camera was with a friend, so couldn't get few snaps to blog about it. Then somehow forgot to blog about it even though it was just in front of me every day. Well! this small gadget is a war tank I bought from http://toys.brando.com.hk, body is little less than 2 inches long and with the gun turret about 2.5 inches long. and it really works with the remote control. It's belts are powerful enough to run over all the different things on my table. Remote control unit which is also the charger is a 8 inch long stick type bomb (I guess). Remote control unit is powered with two AAA batteries. First you open the cap, plug the tank press the charge button, keep for few minutes until the LED goes off, then it is set to go. After charging it works smoothly for about 10 minutes. It's a pretty interesting gadget. But this also, like many other battery powered gadgets shows one big weakness. Which is the power source. Even today's latest batteries are not good when thinking about operating 'long times'. This is one area where many researches are working on. There are several promising technologies though. I think the one which is going to deal with liquid (methanol or something) based fuel will be the coolest. Well! that's assuming if somebody don't create a mini / micro / tiny nuclear engine which can be fit into toy cars (may be that's a stupid thought ... but who knows). Anyways that technology is not that far away. There are already several gadgets available powered with this alcohol fuel. And I remember I saw somewhere that one big laptop manufacturer very soon is going to introduce this liquid fuel based laptops to the market. Anyways, powering all our small gadgets, toys etc with fuel will be a very cool think. |
